Christine McGuinness has addressed her rumoured appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and joked that she will be back at the hotel “within a day”.
Christine McGuinness all but confirmed she will be heading Down Under to take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2025 during an exclusive chat with the Mirror at this year’s Pride Of Britain Awards.
The former model spoke on the red carpet with close pal Will Njobvu, and the pair laughed when asked whether she will be entering the jungle. “I don’t want to spill the tea, but…” began Will, as Christine was then asked what was coming up for the rest of the year. “I’m A Celeb!” laughed Will, as Christine joked she’d get in trouble for saying anything.
“I’m scared of everything, all of them.; snakes, spiders, the lot. I also couldn’t eat anything, I’m not eating no cockroaches,” said Christine of how she’d cope in the famous jungle.
She continued: “I probably wouldn’t bring a lot, I think I’d be back in the hotel in about a day! But I also wouldn’t want to say ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” because I wouldn’t want to call myself a celebrity!”
Elsewhere at the star-studded event, former Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu teased she would be joining Christine in the I’m A Celebrity jungle later this year.
She said: “I think I’m A Celeb is definitely something I’ve been practicing for. I saw a massive spider, It was like an Australian huntsman in my wardrobe, I swear to god, I was fri**in scared and I learnt how to catch it because, you never know, I might need it on the show.” She added: “If i see someone cute on the show, I will put on a brave face”.
It comes as ITV’s hit show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! is returning, and several stars are already rumoured to be taking part. The show, which started in 2002, has been running for 24 series.
Vogue Williams is also said to be close to signing up for this year’s show. If she did, she would be the second in her family to do so, as husband, Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews camped under the stars on the ITV show a decade ago.
I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, the all-star version of the ITV reality show, is to return for a second series in 2026. The show, which sees memorable cast members from previous editions of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! return to face new challenges in the South African wilderness, will see Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly return to host and air on ITV1, STV and ITVX.
Its debut series in 2023 was won by former Hear’Say member Myleene Klass, and saw contestants including Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder, ex-England cricketer Phil Tufnell, former Countdown co-host Carol Vorderman, and ex-Olympian Fatima Whitbread return to the show.
In a new element of the show, the public will have the power to decide who is crowned the ultimate legend in 2026 in a live grand final broadcast from the UK.
McPartlin said: “The campmates really brought their A-game to the first series so we can’t wait to be back for more trials, challenges and surprises amongst the beautiful South African landscape.”
Donnelly added: “Having a live final is an exciting addition to the new series with the viewers choosing their IAC (I’m A Celebrity) legend and we’ve heard some of the new trials are truly epic, even by I’m A Celeb standards.”
An exact air date for the show is yet to be announced.
