Acting icon Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86. The sad news was announced today just a few hours after Chuck was said to have been taken into hospital after suffering a medical emergency in Hawaii.

Chuck, who had celebrated his 86th birthday just 10 days ago on March 10, was known for his talented martial arts skills and his acting. The iconic actor – who was a household name – was known for movies such as The Expendables, The Delta Force, Silent Rage and more. Chuck became a pop culture icon for his legendary roundhouse kick, which was featured in his show Walker, Texas Ranger.

The family shared a statement following the news. It read: “It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.

TMZ reported that sources claimed to them that a medical emergency occurred within the last 24 hours and Chuck was rushed to hospital on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. It is claimed that Chuck was ‘in good spirits’ and ‘cracking jokes’.

Just 10 days ago, Chuck turned 86 and marked the occasion by showing off his incredible martial arts skills in a video, as he told fans: “I don’t age, I level up”. The clip sees him showing off his incredible moves sparring with a partner with boxing gloves on.

He then added in the caption: “I don’t age. I level up. I’m 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young. I’m grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love. Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you’ll ever know. God Bless, Chuck Norris”.

Chuck leaves behind his wife Gena O’Kelley and five children Dakota, Eric, Danilee, Dina and Mike.
