Farming contractor Kaleb Cooper has reached out to his 3 million Instagram followers for help, after revealing he has been diagnosed with an agonising health condition
Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper has appealed to his fans for help, after revealing he’s been diagnosed with a painful health condition. The farming contractor shot to fame alongside former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson as he televised his rural venture, Diddly Squat Farm.
But Kaleb told his followers he’s “never been in so much pain”, as he revealed he has contracted shingles. The virus causes sufferers to have a pins and needles sensation all over their body, leaving a painful rash – usually on one side of the body or face.
Speaking directly to his 3million followers from a tractor, Kaleb explained his ordeal. He said: “I’ve never been in so much pain in my life. I don’t know how I’m saying this but I’m 27 years old and I’ve got shingles. It is so painful.”
He added: “I thought only old people get that and no disrespect if you’ve got it and you’re maybe old. Honestly, it’s like pins and needles continually in your body.”

Stopping himself from swearing just in time, he said singles “hurts like a…”, before asking fans: “How do I get rid of it? Can I take a tablet to get rid of it really quickly or something?”
Kaleb’s latest ailment comes after he gave fans another worrying health update in June 2025. The Prime Video star shared with his followers last year that he was hospitalised after fracturing his ankle, resulting in the farmer having to wear a safety boot.

The 27-year-old dad-of-three appeared on Good Morning Britain in September last year, where he gave a grim update on the state of the farming industry. While he promoted his new book, Kaleb spoke to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls about the ongoing challenges faced by farmers.
Kaleb, who is also an author, released his first children’s novel, Kaleb’s Farmyard Tales, last year. But speaking candidly, Susanna said: “I’m sure you have lots of fabulous stories in the book… But the reality of farming doesn’t present such a pretty picture, does it? What has this year’s harvest, on top of last year’s harvest, been like?”
Kaleb responded: “Farming on a yearly basis is getting harder and harder with the weather. For example, farmers have had two bad years. Last year, we had an incredibly bad year because of too much rain, and then this year not enough rain.
“Therefore, that’s two bad years on the run. I don’t believe too many farmers are going to survive that. We can survive one bad year, but two bad years on the run is hard work.”
Despite the hardships, Kaleb remains passionate about his work, adding: “But at the same time, it’s amazing. I woke up this morning, got the cows in the background. I’m going to feed all the cows today, it’s something I love doing and I speak very passionate about because I enjoy it.”
Regarding the possibility of his three children pursuing his career path, Kaleb remarked: “It would be great. But at the same time, I’ve always said this, I never want to push my kids into something they don’t want to do.
“I’m a firm believer that if you wake up and go, ‘I’ve got to go to work today,’ I think you’re firmly in the wrong job. I wake up and go, ‘What am I doing today?’ So, therefore I know I’m in the right job.”
