The woman featured in the infamous Coldplay kisscam video has slammed Gwyneth Paltrow as a “hyprocrite” after she got involved in the whole scandal with a PR video

The woman outed on the Coldplay kiss cam, Kristin Cabot, has slammed Gwyneth Paltrow for getting involved in her viral affair drama. The former Astronomer executive, 53, opened up for the first time in a heartbreaking interview about her utter panic after seeing the video, as millions around the world watched the mum cosying up to married CEO Andy Byron on the jumbotron before trying to hide.

As the moment played out around the world, Hollywood actress Gwyneth, also 53, who has made millions through her wellness company Goop, starred as a “temporary spokesperson” for Astronomer in a PR parody video and Kristin took umbrage with the fact that she put her name to it in the fist place.

Kristin said: “I was such a fan of her company, which seemed to be about uplifting women. And then she did this. I thought, ‘How dare she after the beating she got for all the conscious uncoupling stuff…’ What a hypocrite!”

To show just how furious she was with the Shallow Hal star, who famously used the term “conscious uncoupling” when she split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin over a decade ago, Kristin threw out all of the Goop products she owned. Speaking to the Times of the life-changing moment at a July Coldplay concert, during which frontman Chris Martin quipped, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy” as the pair attempted to hide their faces, the Boston-based mother confessed that everything just “flashed” before her in that moment.

The 16-second clip, filmed by another concertgoer and posted to TikTok, was widely believed to have caught Cabot and Byron, her married boss who was holding her from behind in the video, cheating – and swiftly became one of the most viral videos of all time.

Mother-of-two Kristin, from New Hampshire, has now spoken for the very first time of the scandal and laid out the devastation that one moment in time has caused her since. ““I could have been struck by lightning, I could have won the lottery, or this could have happened,”

Admitting sadly that the moment has ruined her life, she added incredulously, “I’m not some celebrity, I’m just a mom from New Hampshire. Even if I did have an affair, it’s not anybody’s business. It has been like a scarlet letter; people erased everything I’d accomplished in my life and achieved in my career. This can’t be the final word.”

She maintains it was the first time the pair, who she says were amicably separated from their respective spouses, had physically embraced, but after being flashed up on a big screen in front of 50,000-odd gig-goers, it was then viewed online by millions.

Kristin decided amid the immediate fallout that she wanted her children to know before anyone else, but said her daughter “burst into tears, saying, ‘I guess that means you really are getting divorced then’”. While her son tried to convince her that the whole debacle would “probably go away”.

Admitting that she was in ‘too dark a place’ to parent, Kristin went to an Airbnb in the New Hampshire mountains for a few days, and said, “I became a meme, the most maligned HR manager in HR history.

“I think as a woman, as women always do, I took the bulk of the abuse. People would say things like I was a ‘gold-digger’ or I ‘slept my way to the top’, which just couldn’t be further from reality.”

Now, months later, having been told she is ‘unemployable’, she told the Times, the ordeal is not over.

As well as her job, she has lost friends, and her kids are too embarrassed to have her take them to school or sports events. She said, “They’re mad at me. And they can be mad at me for the rest of their lives — I have to take that.” As well as horrific online abuse, she said mothers still gossip about her at the school gate – and strangers shout nasty abuse in the street.

She tearfully admitted in the interview that she has one wish for the future: “We have to be kinder to each other, not constantly tear one another down.”
