The Cowboys are thinking big ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
NFL reporter Trey Wingo wrote on X on Tuesday that the Cowboys “have made inquiries with the Raiders about a potential trade for Maxx Crosby.”
Crosby, 28, is one of the top pass rushers in the NFL and would immediately fill the void left by Micah Parsons, who was traded to the Packers before the season in exchange for two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark.

In seven games this season, Crosby has four sacks and 28 total tackles with a forced fumble and an interception.
When healthy, he’s one of the top defensive players in the league, having twice received votes for the Defensive Player of the Year award and made four Pro Bowls throughout his seven-year career.
The Raiders, who were blown out by the Chiefs 31-0 on Sunday, could be looking to sell at the deadline after falling to 2-5.
With their offense humming on all cylinders, the Cowboys are headed the other way.

Dallas is 3-3-1 behind one of the best offensive attacks in the NFL.
They are first in the NFL in total yards per game (390.6) and second in points per game (31.7) heading into Week 8.
Quarterback Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level, throwing for 1,881 yards with 16 touchdown passes and just three interceptions.

But with Parsons out of the picture, their defense is leaving a lot to be desired.
They’re allowing the most total yards per game (401.6) and have given up the third-most points per game (29.4) this season.
The Cowboys’ pass rush, in particular, has been atrocious, giving up 260.3 yards through the air per game, which is a league-high.
