Cruz Beckham is turning his talents to the music world as he has now released his new songs Optics and Lick The Toad with lyrics that could be awkward for his famous parents
Cruz Beckham has finally spoken out after his “awkward” moment with parents Victoria and David. The 20-year-old is dipping his toe back into the music world as he has released his two new songs this week.
However, the theme of his new tracks may be slightly awkward for his mum and dad to listen to. His new songs, Optics and Lick The Toad, feature mature themes such as drugs and sex.
It’s thought that Cruz may have to prepare himself for a potentially awkward conversation with his famous parents after releasing his especially explicit new single, Optics. But the singer has spoken out for the first time since releasing the risky track.

Taking to his Instagram story, Cruz shared a photo from the summer where he is standing proudly with his hands on his hips while wearing some white swimming briefs.
He then jokes by saying: “It’s a shame they didn’t recognise my gorgeous legs.” The raunchy music comes amid his relationship with Jackie Apostel, 30, who is a decade older than him, and they collaborated on the album and album cover together.
He sings in Optics: “Take a thousand selfies in your bed while I trip in mine / I love me some mushrooms and good head and an erotic 69.”
The chorus echoes: “Stay high fashion, no comedown, no crashing but you wanna know how it looks, I wanna know how it feels”. His second single release Lick The Toad opts for slightly less provocative lyrics, instead focusing his song on “mother nature”.
“Let me take a lick of you mother nature, imma take a lick. Let me take a hit of you mother nature, imma take a hit,” Cruz says.
Cruz opened for The Royston Club in a string of intimate gigs, including a performance at East London’s iconic The George Tavern. On stage, Cruz and his band belted out a selection of his new tunes, including Optics, Caroline, For Your Love, and Lick The Toad.
Addressing the crowd, he said: “This is really special for me. I just want to thank everyone for being here tonight.” An industry insider who attended the gig shared: “Cruz was a little nervous, but once he got going, the crowd went wild for him.
“He’s clearly spent the summer listening to Oasis. He’s got a decent voice, can play the guitar, and his songs are certainly catchy. I would describe his style as catchy indie landfill.”
Cruz has been working in the music industry for some time now. He first graced the music scene with his debut single, If Every Day Was Christmas, back in 2016, with all proceeds going to charity at the time.
