Deal of the day: Fly nonstop to Ireland for only 11,000 Chase points

Ireland delivers on every front: dramatic coastlines, world-class food and a pub culture that turns strangers into friends over a pint of stout.

Start with Dublin, where you can spend a few days exploring the city’s literary history, sampling the food scene in neighborhoods like Stoneybatter and Phibsborough, and visiting Trinity College to see the Book of Kells. From there, the real magic of Ireland reveals itself once you pick up a rental car and head west. The Wild Atlantic Way (a driving route that stretches more than 1,500 miles along Ireland’s western coastline from Donegal to Cork) is one of the most dramatic road trips in Europe, with rugged cliffs, empty beaches and villages where the pub doubles as the post office.

With a transfer bonus available from the Chase Ultimate Rewards program to the Aer Lingus AerClub loyalty program, now is a great time to book a flight to the Emerald Isle for less.

(Note that prices and availability were accurate at the time of writing.)

How to find and book TPG’s deal of the day

Unfortunately, the handy Seats.aero tool does not immediately show Aer Lingus AerClub availability; however, you can still use it to find award seats with this trick.

Using the Explore tab, select the Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards program and filter the regions to show flights from North America to Europe (or vice versa if you are looking for flights in the other direction). Then select Aer Lingus from the list of airlines and set another filter for direct flights only.

Ignore the 22,500-point price that Atmos Rewards charges. Any routes and dates showing at this price through Atmos Rewards should be bookable for 13,000 Aer Lingus AerClub Avios on off-peak dates.

You can then check the Aer Lingus AerClub website and book online. It’s a good idea to check that the seats you want are available before transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to AerClub, as transfers cannot be reversed.

How to earn the points or miles required for TPG’s deal of the day

Right now, you’ll get the best value by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points (which have a 20% transfer bonus until March 31) to the Aer Lingus AerClub loyalty program.

Here are some of the best cards to earn Ultimate Rewards points:

American Express Membership Rewards points, Bilt Rewards Points and Wells Fargo Rewards points also transfer directly to Aer Lingus AerClub at a 1:1 ratio.

Plus, Avios can be transferred freely between other airline programs that use Avios. This means you can even turn Citi ThankYou Rewards points and Capital One miles into Aer Lingus AerClub Avios by first transferring them to those programs’ Avios partners. (Citi points transfer at a 1:1 ratio to British Airways; Capital One miles transfer at a 1:1 ratio to Qatar Airways.)

So even if you don’t have Chase points to utilize the transfer bonus, you probably have access to Avios if you have any transferable credit card points.

Bottom line

Flying to Ireland on points doesn’t get much cheaper than this. At just 11,000 Chase points each way on off-peak dates, thanks to the current 20% transfer bonus to Aer Lingus AerClub, available until March 31, you can save hundreds on the cash prices of these flights from the convenience of a dozen major U.S. airports.

Just remember the golden rule: Confirm award availability on the AerClub website before transferring your points, as transfers cannot be reversed.
