A huge US pop star has been forced to pull a number of shows on their upcoming tour as they told their faced they had ‘overextended what may be possible’
A huge pop star has been forced to cancel part of their upcoming tour ‘to protect my health’. Demi Lovato stunned her fans with the announcement as she was preparing a number of dates in April.
In a message to her ‘Lovatics’, the Cool For The Summer songstress, 33, revealed her It’s Not That Deep Tour wouldn’t be going ahead as planned. However, she did reveal she is excited to get back onto the stage at a later date.
The tour was initially scheduled to visit 23 cities across North America. However, a number of gigs have now been pulled.
In a message on her Instagram Stories, the star said: “My Lovatics – I am so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can. While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible.

“To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”
She announced the dates that would be cancelled include dates scheduled in April in Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver. She also confirmed the date of her Orlando show has been moved to April 13 in order to fully prepare.
Despite the cancellations and apologetic announcement, Demi ended by saying: “I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me! Thank you for you support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon.”
Demi told her fans who had purchased tickets for the canceled shows through Ticketmaster or AXS will be automatically refunded. However, she urged those who bought tickets via third-party retailers to reach out to their “point of purchase.”
Her latest tour was planned to showcase her dance-pop album which was released in October. The work topped Billboard’s Top Dance Albums chart and hit highs of ninth spot on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
The tour comes after the star had previously revealed she wouldn’t be going back on the road. After her 2022 Holy Fvck tour, Demi said she “can’t do this anymore”.
In a message at the time, she said: “I’m so f***ing sick I can’t get out of bed. I can’t do this anymore. This next tour will be my last. I love and thank you guys.”
Back in 2010, she had also been forced to pull out of supporting the Jonas Brothers after an altercation with a dancer led to Lovato seeking treatment for mental health issues.
And in 2018, she cancelled the final stages of her Tell Me You Love Me world tour after she was hospitalised for a drug overdose. She later entered rehabilitation.
