Former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore has become the latest target of public scrutiny after his firing from Michigan Football on December 10, 2025, following allegations of pursuing an “inappropriate relationship with a staff member”. Another name caught in the crossfire is his former executive assistant, Paige Shiver, 32, who the internet believes is the alleged mistress of the 39-year-old Football coach.

Although none of these claims have been verified by either party involved, the specificity of the allegations, especially those involving Shiver’s illicit pregnancy and Moore’s coercion, has fueled outrage and speculation among netizens. The viral post claimed the ex-head coach forced Shiver to terminate the pregnancy, stalked her, more than doubled her salary, and even threatened her with a knife. The post reads:

“Sherrone Moore cheated on his wife of 3 kids, got his staffer pregnant, forced an abortion, stalked her, doubled her salary, held a knife to her, broke into her house, threatened suicide to his wife… The signs were there. We need to pay attention to what people tweet and post. Even what they wear on their shirts, they’re not joking.”

Why Paige Shiver became the internet’s prime focus, despite no named staff member

Since that post, social media has erupted with whatever clues they could find about Moore, his wife, Kelli, and Paige Shiver. Although neither Michigan nor the investigators has disclosed the staff member’s identity, online sleuths quickly zeroed in on the executive assistant, given her proximity to Moore, her sudden disappearance from social media after the firing, and, most glaringly, her 55% salary jump within a fiscal year.

According to Michigan’s athletics website, Shiver served as Moore’s executive assistant, joining the program in 2022 after a recruiting role and earning a promotion in 2024. None of this confirms any involvement in the alleged relationship, but speculation intensified once she locked down her social media accounts, including Instagram, X, and LinkedIn, shortly after the scandal broke. While some saw it as suspicious, others viewed it as an expected reaction for someone suddenly thrust into the middle of a tabloid frenzy.

At this point, even the internet is losing track of what’s confirmed and what’s not, given the extent to which the gossip surrounding Moore’s scandals has escalated. Moreover, the investigators have released no details about he specific criminal charges placed against the ex-head coach. 

Moore’s wife’s statement regarding an assault surfaces

TMZ reported a 911 call connected to an alleged assault involving Sherrone Moore, in which the caller referenced a message supposedly conveyed by Moore’s wife, Kelli. According to the report, she indicated Moore had appeared “suicidal,” which aligned with claims that he was holding a knife and attempting to harm himself and the victim. The comment suggested his mental state may have deteriorated following his dismissal.

Moore and Kelli have been married since 2015, and the couple shares three children. Kelli is known to be very private and is often described by those close to the family as a steady source of support. Little else is publicly known about their relationship, including how they met or how long they dated before getting married.

Whether the resurfaced allegations hold any truth or are simply social-media speculation, Moore and the Michigan program have now become the center of a national scandal with more questions than answers.
