There’s no crying in baseball, so please, no tears about how the Dodgers are ruining the sport or how they are all but assuring that a salary cap must come to MLB or else there will be a no-play Armageddon next year.
I have heard it all before and think it is déjà dumb. The last time a team looked like these Dodgers, the sport survived the Yankees Dynasty. Heck, I would argue it thrived because of it — much like it is again, unless you think three straight years of rising attendance for the first time in two decades and a 2025 World Series that set a global viewing record is not thriving.
Yet, here we are a quarter of a century later, listening to the same complaints though:
