Remember back in 2020 when we couldn’t go to salons and some of us took that as a sign to accept our grays? What a time. Most celebrities who let a few gray inches come through didn’t end up sticking with the grow-out process, going back to regular dye jobs. But six years later, it looks like Drew Barrymore may be ready to embrace the silver fox life.
Barrymore, who’s been wearing a lovely chestnut brown hair color for a while, invited hair-transformation king Chris Appleton to turn both her and Valerie Bertinelli’s hair into silver masterpieces on the set of the Drew Barrymore Show. In a video posted by bother Appleton and the talk show, we see the stylist and colorist cover his clients with a salon cape, suddenly revealing both brunettes are now sporting some of the most gorgeous gray hair we’ve ever seen.
Appleton even shares in the caption exactly which Schwarzkopf Professional formulas he used to achieve the multidimensional look, in case viewers want to take that list to their colorist. (Don’t tempt us, Chris!)

The reaction in the comments is all over the place, with some doubting that Barrymore and Bertinelli actually went through with dyeing their hair gray. “Nahhh im calling WIG!!! It’s way too shiny and the styles/cuts are completely different,” one commenter wrote. But even if they’re just testing the waters, the popular opinion is that they look incredible.
“This week… two hot new Silver Sisters enter the villa!!!!” one fan commented. “Oh my! This! This is FABULOUS! Welcome to the silver side,” another said.
We have to agree—and we may just have to seriously consider expediting our own transitions into silver foxes.
