If you’re planning on hosting family or friends over Easter, finding a place for them to sleep can be tricky, but this ‘really comfortable’ striped sofa bed is the perfect solution

With Easter approaching, the long weekend is the perfect time for friends and family to visit, but one thing that can be a challenge is knowing where everyone can sleep. There’s only so many sofa cushion beds you can cobble together, which is why when we spotted this Beatrice II Woven Stripe Single Snuggle Sofa Bed at Dunelm, we thought it was the perfect solution.

By day it looks just like a standard – albeit very chic – armchair, but a quick manoeuvre means it transforms into a pull-out single bed ready for someone to sleep on. The chair comes in three different coloured striped prints that would suit all home decor, and it’s already been rated five stars by shoppers despite only just launching on the Dunelm website.

When it’s folded up into an armchair, the Beatrice II Snuggle Sofa Bed has stylish curved arms, with a broad back rest and thickly padded seat cushion which makes it comfortable and cosy for curling up in whilst relaxing. The wooden legs give it a classic silhouette, whilst the striped woven fabric gives it a modern, playful twist.

You can choose from three striped colourways; black and white, green and white, and pink and white, which add some colour and pattern to your room without being overwhelming. And once you’re ready to settle guests down for the night, the Beatrice II Snuggle Sofa Bed unfolds into a single bed with an easy pull-out design.

The bed has a new and improved mattress that can support up to 110kg, with metal legs to provide extra support and structure when it’s pulled out. The mattress will be 48cm from the floor, and measures 73cm wide and 182cm long, and you can pick up the chair for £599.

Having a sofa bed that folds back into an armchair is much more space-saving than a traditional sofa bed, and makes it much easier to squeeze it into a living room or spare bedroom. If you want some similar options, Dusk’s Seattle Single Click Clack Sofa Bed is £289, but has less of a classic armchair silhouette, with no arms and a folded up design that flattens out into more a futon-style design.

You can also head to Habitat, where the Roma Single boucle Chairbed is £240 which also pulls out into a futon-type bed which sits low to the ground. However, the Beatrice II Snuggle Sofa Bed blends seamlessly into your living space when not in use as a bed, making it a great two-in-one piece of furniture.

It’s also been rated five stars by shoppers, despite being a new launch on Dunelm’s site. One said it’s a: “Great chair for our baby room” and added: “A great chair. We have it in our daughters bedroom and it’s lovely to read stories on and means one of us can sleep in there while we’re accustomising her to her own room.”

Another agreed: “This chair has a really comfortable feel. I have slept on this for 6 days straight and I would recommend this for anyone as it is stable and strong plus it doesn’t take up a lot of room when folded back up into the chair. Really like the style too.”
