Singer Ellie Goulding has shared that she has given birth to her second child and her son Arthur’s adorable reaction to becoming a big brother
Ellie Goulding has given birth to her second child. The singer revealed the news on Instagram with a cute first picture and an insight into how her eldest child, Arthur, celebrated the birth.
Ellie shared a picture of her daughter to the app after her birth on 6 March. The cropped picture did not show her face, but featured her little arm just barely sticking out of a knitted jumper. Over the photo, the Anything Could Happen singer wrote: “On Friday I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl.
“We are totally obsessed with her. I was fitting that I spent International Women’s Day with her and the incredible female team at St Mary’s, who provided me and my baby with extraordinary care and kindness.

“I will always be in awe of midwives. This addition to my family fills me with so much joy, especially as Arthur is so so happy to become a big brother to this little angel.” Ellie also tagged her boyfriend and daughter’s father Beau Minniear in the post.
She added a black and white picture of a cake that had “Welcome baby sister” written on it in icing. Ellie also added pictures of flowers she had received, including some she had placed under a banner that read: “Oh baby baby.”
Last month, Ellie delighted fans by sharing details of her Greggs and McDonald’s themed baby shower. The star wore a pink and white Versace mini dress as she celebrated with her friends at the Union Club in Soho.
She was joined by several stars including the boyband Blue, with whom she belted out some hits. The band and Ellie were seen singing together in a video posted by actress Brook Nader, who wrote over the top: “Iconic Mama, @elliegoulding @officialblue (Don’t bother inviting me to a baby shower if it ain’t this fun)”
Later, Ellie changed into some pyjamas and a sash that said “Preggs”. Pics from the shower also featured branded ‘EG’ McDonald’s fries and margaritas on tap.
The baby shower and the birth of her daughter came at the same time that Ellie has been writing her next album. The unreleased record is set to centre of the breakdown of her marriage to ex husband Casper Jopling. Casper is the father of her son, Arthur.
Ellie has previously said she did not realise her album would be a “divorce album”. She said: “I didn’t know it was going to be a divorce album, but that’s the way it started heading. When I married my ex-husband, I thought it was for life. That will never go away and that will always stay with me.
“There are some songs that are necessary for me to acknowledge that time in my life and to be respectful of it. Then there were some songs that were extremely reactionary and sad that I felt were good to do in the moment, but don’t serve me long-term.
“It feels new. It feels different, this feeling of finally going to a place and releasing something and I don’t feel any pressure. My label, my friends – everyone’s behind it. And even my ex-husband loves the songs.”
