District Collector Himanshu Shukla conducted surprise inspections at procurement centres in Varigonda and Parlappalli, reviewing records, registration procedures and grain quality. He also interacted with farmers and directed officials to resolve issues promptly.

So far, 1,04,245 metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 6,603 farmers during the 2025-26 Kharif and Rabi seasons, valued at about ₹249 crore. Payments worth ₹211 crore have already been credited to 5,678 farmers within 24 hours.

The collector said the process is being monitored through daily reviews, with focus on moisture testing, gunny bag supply, transportation and timely shifting of stocks to mills.

He assured that all produce brought to centres would be procured without delay, emphasising that protecting farmers’ interests remains the top priority.
