Recently, Rebecca Gayheart took to her Instagram Stories and shared her first statement after her husband, Eric Dane passed away. Rebecca shared a photo, which featured multiple frames of her and Eric. Along with it, she penned a note, in which she thanked her fans for showering her with love and support. Her note can be read as:

“I am so blown away by the outpouring of love and support from our community. There aren’t words to express our gratitude. You are truly holding us during this difficult time.”

Recently, Eric Dane’s wife, Rebecca Gayheart made her first appearance after the tragic death of the Grey’s Anatomy actor. In the same, Rebecca was seen wearing a trench coat and looked devastated. Along with it, she posted several throwbacks of Eric Dane with their children. Further, she also thanked everyone, who supported the GoFundMe donations for the actor.

Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane are one of the most loved couples. Their relationship has been admired by fans for a long time. For those who do not know, the two first met in 2003, and their bond instantly turned serious. Later, Rebecca and Eric tied the knot in October 2004, in Las Vegas. After a few years of togetherness, they embraced parenthood with the birth of two daughters, Billie Beatrice Dane, who was born in 2010 and Georgia Geraldine Dane, who was born in 2011.

After 14 years of marriage, Rebecca Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018. Even though they chose to end their relationship, they decided to co-parent their daughters. However, destiny had some other plans as their divorce was not getting finalised. In March 2025, Rebecca Gayheart surprised her fans when she chose to dismiss her divorce. It is worth mentioning that Rebecca dismissed the divorce plea days after Eric Dane revealed his ALS diagnosis in April 2025.

If reports are to be believed, in the last interview of Eric Dane, before his tragic death, he had spoken about his wife, Rebecca Gayheart. Reportedly, he sat for an interview with Netflix’s Famous Last Words, during which he revealed that he could not have loved anyone more than Rebecca Gayheart. 

He further stated that when he first met her, he turned to her friend, saying that he would marry her. Rebecca’s friend was adamant that she would never break up with her then-fiance, with whom she had been since she was 15 years old. Eventually, Rebecca ended up marrying Eric Dane.
