Another said: “It’ll really get the crowd going & I think there’s real potential for some great staging where I feel the UK lack every year, so I’m intrigued there. It’s not a winner for me, but I rate the different avenue we’ve gone down.”

A third added: “A UK Eurovision entry that actually sounds like a Eurovision entry and is as catchy as hell. Is this our year? I think it just might be.”

A fourth chimed in: “I mean I am actually quite liking that Eurovision entry for UK we’ve finally taken a risk and gone for something different!” While a fifth said: “I actually like this song for the UK this year. It is different and quirky. I wasn’t a big fan of our entry last year but i am excited about this one. Bring on eurovision.”

The song is described as having a “whimsical and strikingly witty feel, with playful lyrics and undertones of Britpop and eighties’ synthwave, and is chock-full of uniquely UK references”.

In the track he references famous UK dessert “roly poly with custard” among other classic UK things. LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER said: “I am absolutely buzzing that the world can finally hear what we have created. Eins, Zwei, Drei was born during a session with the other writers and producers on my synthesizer ‘Kosmo’, and I couldn’t be prouder of it.

“I want people to be able to dance, shout, singalong, and just embrace the absurd jubilation that I hope it sparks when you listen to it. We’re working hard on pulling together all the elements to make it one of the wildest performances to ever grace the Eurovision stage, which is no small feat! See you in Vienna!”

Speaking on Radio 2 today, he said: “I’ve loved Eurovision for a very long time. I mean, I’ve watched quite a lot of them, and my favourite part of it all is watching all of them in the back room when they’re seeing the scoreboard and you can see all of the reactions and the emotions going on. I want to sit there, and I hope I feel my face doing the same reactions.

“I build a lot of synthesizers and musical machines, and try and avoid the computer a little bit. And the idea of, you know when you say, Look mom, no hands when you ride your bike. I’ve built a lot of things. Most of them are musical machines.”

Speaking about the song, he added: “That is 123, in German, for people who aren’t aware. It felt right to write a song that included a bunch of different European things – the whole thing is about going on holiday, and feeling I’m gonna have some pizza, maybe in Italy. I’m tired of eating this roly poly, which I love eating for most of the year, but I just want a little bit of a break from it.”

A string of Eurovision icons have given their verdict on the song, including presenters Graham Norton, Sara Cox, Scott Mills and Rylan Clark, who all have strong ties with the singing contest.

Graham – who fronts the UK coverage of Eurovision said of the track: “This year’s song is a real banger. Joyful and supremely catchy. Hopefully it can get the rest of Europe singing along.”

Sara Cox added: “It’s a rousing, foot stomping anthem that’s like the wild rebellious offspring of 80s new wave and a big fat dirty beat. It grabs you by the ears & is insanely catchy, I think it’s a brave, bold & exciting choice.”

Scott Mills shared: “We always get people saying we need to send something a bit different to Eurovision. So here it is! A synth banger from a mad professor of pop that will have them chanting in the arena in Vienna.”

Rylan said: “We were very lucky to hear some of the Eurovision entry submissions beforehand, and I was struck when I heard Eins, Zwei, Drei by LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER. Out of all the entries it was the one that really got stuck in my head… I had to stop myself from singing the track out loud out of fear of someone finding out!”

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will take place in Wiener Stadthalle, Vienna on Saturday 16 May.
