Musician Jesse Wood has revealed he is expecting a baby with his Made In Chelsea girlfriend Gemma Gregory – 16 months after his split from Fearne
Jesse Wood, son of rock royalty, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood, has announced he is expecting a baby with his partner Gemma Gregory – just 16 months after his split from former radio DJ Fearne Cotton.
The musician, 49, and the Made In Chelsea star, 40, made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday. They shared a snap in the post of Gemma showing off her growing baby bump alongside the caption, ‘incoming’, before sharing another picture with Jesse captioned ‘made by these muppets’.
Gemma has an 11-year-old son from a previous relationship, while Jesse – who has had a string of high-profile romances in the past with the likes of Kate Moss, Kate Hudson and model Jasmine Guinness – shares two children, son Rex, 12, and daughter Honey, nine, with Fearne.
Before meeting Fearne, who runs the Happy Place podcast and Festival, Jesse was married to Katherine ‘Tilly’ Boone, 52, with whom he also has two now grown-up children.
The announcement might come as a surprise to some fans, as Jesse recently opened up about his financial worries amid his divorce from Fearne, as he appeared in court in January on a speeding charge.
The guitarist told magistrates after admitting speeding on the A4 in West London that he was living on around £1,000 a month and had been struggling to find employment since his ten-year marriage fell apart.
The sometime guitarist for band Reef said: “I was due to be employed in 2024 but it got delayed. At the moment I’m living off my savings and I am looking to get employment.”
Though Jesse’s father is thought to be worth some £100million, company accounts show that Jesse’s business is deeply in the red and faced with mounting debts.
He also seems to have no property to fall back on, as the home he shared with Fearne in Richmond, south-west London, is registered solely in Fearne’s name, meaning he has no legal claim to the £3.15million house bought in 2014.
As Jesse shared that he was set to become a father for the fifth time, his ex Fearne shared her own update – albeit not quite as huge – as she debuted a new, lighter blonde hairstyle.
Jesse went public with his romance with Gemma, who is the daughter of actor Paul Gregory, last April, when the latter posted a sunny snap of him with the caption of ‘Bloody love this one.’
It followed Jesse’s shock split from Fearne after a decade-long marriage, followed by Fearne’s reported new relationship with Elliot Hegarty, a television director ten years her senior.
Ronnie Wood’s ex-wife Jo Wood, who helped raise Jesse, said of the surprise split last year: ‘I was shocked actually. I didn’t expect Fearne to have a new boyfriend. And Jesse was devastated.
‘But sometimes in life, you have to go through these things. It may be daunting at first, but every cloud has a silver lining. Nothing lasts forever. I hope Fearne will be very happy. I’m sure Jesse’s going to be very happy. These things work out. Their time was up – they had to move on.’
