Tragically, the fitness influencer and ovarian cancer researcher had celebrated her birthday just days before the news of her death was announced. Taking to Instagram on Friday, a statement was shared from Jeff’s team.

It reads, “It is with profound sorrow that we share the sudden passing of Jeff’s fiancée and partner of ten years, Stephanie. As many of you know, Stephanie meant the world to Jeff. She will be remembered for her warmth and compassion, her love for her family, and her PhD research on ovarian cancer.

Stephanie was a beloved face on YouTube earning a huge following thanks to her science-based content on training and nutrition, and simple, down to earth advice.

The influencer was also known for her PhD research focused on ovarian cancer including discovering a revolutionary new way to help screen for the disease. The fitness star’s passing has been described as sudden, with a cause of death not yet shared.

Stephanie announced in 2024 that she would be stepping back from social media due to her “crippling” anxiety. However, just a few months later she shared that her mental health had become “the best it’s ever been” and she was “way more present” in her life.

She shared, “Overall the pros have outweighed the cons for me. Sometimes I still feel a void in my day-to-day life from being so removed from this app, but the positives from taking this break has been worth it. But believe me when I say I Iove and miss you, I truly mean it.”

Comments under Jeff’s statement have been turned off but fans rushed to write their condolences after the couple’s most recent post on Valentine’s Day this year.

In a snap of the pair looking happy, relaxed and smiling for the camera, Jeff captioned it, “Relationshipmaxxing with tea time to lower cortisol levels.” Stephanie wrote in response, “Love you forever”.

One heartbroken follower shared, “She was my favourite fitness influencer who genuinely helped me in recovering from Anorexia, Jeff I am a complete stranger from NZ but please know how many lives she must have changed and let that give you a tiny bit of comfort. I hope you have some nice people to carry you through the darkest days.”

Another person offered, “Heaven gained an amazing angel. Someone who cared so deeply for others. Praying for you Jeff and her family.” While someone else added, “Be strong Jeff, my heart is broken.”

Canadian Jeff previously shared how the two got together, writing that their romance began after he sent her a message on social media.
