A missing man’s motorcycle is at the centre of an investigation into an alleged murder, as police probe the relationship between him and his accused killer.
Paul Woods was reportedly last seen riding the unregistered blue-and-white Yamaha 450 dirt bike between Hampton and Cressbrook Creek, north-east of Toowoomba, on October 5.

A friend reported the 48-year-old missing nine days later.
He and the bike have not been seen since.
“We’ve been unable to establish any proof of life,” Acting Detective Inspector Ryan Harmer said on Tuesday.
“We’ve spoken to witnesses who have led us to believe this is a homicide.”
A 45-year-old man from Crows Nest has been charged with murder, and appeared at Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
Crime scenes have since been set up at properties at Hampton and Cressbrook Creek, with forensic teams and cadaver dogs brought in to the Cressbrook Creek property.
SES teams and police divers were at the Hampton property on Tuesday.
Anyone with CCTV from the area or who believed they had seen the motorbike was urged to contact police.
Police believe the accused man was known to Woods.
“We’re still establishing the circumstances around their relationship and what has taken place,” Harmer said.
He urged anyone who might know Woods or the accused man, or might know anything about their relationship, to contact police.
Officers alleged the suspect left the Cressbrook Creek area “some time after the disappearance” of Woods and was located on the Gold Coast.
The Cressbrook Creek address was associated with the man, but police were still determining the address where he lived.
Harmer said police believed examination of the scenes would take days.
“A forensic examination has been conducted and is going to be conducted over the coming days at both crime scenes, with a view of identifying evidence,” Harmer said.
