A landslide in a mountainous area of Shizuoka City caused a large section of roadside slope to collapse, leaving around 80 people—including hotel guests and construction workers—temporarily isolated near a hot spring facility, while four guests managed to descend safely on foot via a detour route on Sunday morning.

Cleanup operations continued on March 22nd along the Minami Alps Park Line prefectural road in Tashiro, Aoi Ward, where the landslide occurred. According to Shizuoka City, the collapse involved a roadside slope measuring approximately 70 meters in height and 20 meters in width.
A hot spring facility located near the site has left around 80 people, including guests and construction workers, temporarily isolated. However, on the morning of March 22nd, four guests successfully made their way down the mountain using an alternative route.
The city expects to complete debris removal work by March 23rd.
