Former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge was giving an update on her ongoing ‘journey’ with her mental health when she revealed she is also worried she’s going through perimenopause

Frankie Bridge appeared to tear up as she pleaded to know “what’s wrong with me” as she shared her fear that she is potentially perimenopausal amid her ongoing treatment for depression. The singer-turned-presenter filmed the segments for her YouTube vlog, and spoke about struggling to “get her s**t together” as she revealed she suspects she is perimenopausal.

The former Saturdays star, 36, explained that she was collecting urine and saliva samples for an at-home hormone test kit and expected to get the results back in a few weeks. “If I’m not perimenopausal then what is wrong with me?,” she said on the clip. “Because I cannot talk, ‘I just can’t get my s**t together and I’m like there has to be an excuse. There has to be something.”. There has to be something. But we will see.”

She also filmed herself heading off for her ketamine treatment for depression, which she first spoke about in 2024 but has been doing for several years.

“I had my follow up appointment yesterday and I’m not fixed,” she shared this week. “I need these ket appointments to keep me on track. I was saying to my therapist how I am grateful I can have them but a part of me is disappointed that I still need it.

“Some people have it and then they don’t need it again. I have been on a real journey with it.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant went on to say that the treatment has helped her build the confidence to make important decisions, particularly around her career.

She explained, “I think where I’ve been in the industry for so long, there’s certain things and setups and things that you do that I’ve just been kind of institutionalized to think that’s the only way to do things. And now I’m like, no, actually I can do things differently and I can do things that fill my cup rather than just doing what I think is expected of me.”

In an earlier video from this year Frankie revealed she had been battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after suffering a series of health setbacks last year.

The mum of two, who is also stepmum to her husband Wayne Bridge’s son from a previous relationship, said she felt “really low” as 2025 drew to a close, and could “feel the depression just creeping in”, putting it down to the worry that her mental health and gut issues would roll into another year.

“I’ve had a bit of anxiety because I’ve had this nausea since Boxing Day,” she said on the Christmas vlog. “This time last year, for 2025, I was like, ‘It’s going to be my healthiest year. I’m going to look after myself properly. I have lots of gut issues, I’ve got to really work on them, I’m going to eat healthily, work out.

“I really did do all that, and then I was probably the sickest I’ve been for years for most of the year with my gut – like, loads of issues.”

She then revealed that the fear of having another year of feeling so poorly had given her a form of PTSD. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, I’m going to go into this year and I’m going to be ill all year again’ and just got down on myself a little bit, which is no use to anyone,” she shared.

Frankie has spoken candidly in the past about her anxiety and depression, revealing she was “anxious from the womb” and then began suffering from depression in her late teens. She went on to suffer panic attacks during her time in the Saturdays, and has recently been having ketamine therapy to treat her depression.

Chatting about the ketamine intravenous treatment on her vlog in November, she described her mental health as “always a work in progress” and said she was always seeking out new ways to “make it better”.

She continued, “As someone who’s never taken a drug before, it was terrifying. I’ve never had that feeling of completely letting go. I think I’ve realised control is a big thing for me, and that is fully being out of control – like I don’t even like being really drunk.
