Fraudster Held in ₹3-Crore Job Scam

Hyderabad:The CID said on Saturday that it had arrested one Dinesh Kumar M., on the lam since 2018 for cheating 1,194 victims of nearly ₹3 crore through a bogus job scheme. Kumar was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Coimbatore, and later brought to Hyderabad on transit warrant for remand before the VI Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Nampally.

Investigators said the Dinesh Kumar, along with associates, floated ‘Happy Future Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd’ and set up offices in Hyderabad, Warangal and Khammam. They lured unemployed educated youth with false promises of employment, collected deposits and misappropriated the funds.

CID officials said 11 cases were registered against the firm, with 12 accused arrested so far. Dinesh Kumar is also involved in 10 other cases linked to the society.

The CID took up the case based on a complaint registered as Crime No. 382 of 2018 at te Panjagutta police station under the IPC and the Telangana Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act, 1999, a press release issued by the CID stated. Authorities cautioned the public against investing in fraudulent schemes offering jobs without verifying their credentials.

Molester nabbed after viral video

Hyderabad:A man wanted since May 14 for molesting a woman in public was arrested by Narsingi police on Saturday. The accused, V. Nagaraju, was identified from a video that went viral showing him harassing a woman at Alkapur Township. A special team examined footage from over 230 CCTV cameras on connecting roads, traced him to his house in Puppalguda and arrested him.

During interrogation, Nagaraju confessed to following and molesting the victim while she was returning home with her toddler in the early hours of May 14. Police booked him under sections relating to outraging modesty and indecent gestures in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He was produced before court for judicial remand.
