Former The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins has hinted that she plans to exit the UK for a new life in the Middle East with her fiancé and their family
Gemma Collins has teased that she may quit the UK for a new life in desert paradise. The 44-year-old reality star is best known for being a cast member of the hit ITV series The Only Way Is Essex – despite not starring on the show for six years.
She also famously starred in ITV’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2014 – and is tipped to return to the jungle for the second season of an All Stars spin-off next year. And it seems Gemma could be channeling the title of the reality show – as she’s planning to get out of the UK.
Over the weekend, the TV star enjoyed attending the party of a close friend who turned 40, and also undertook step mum duties as she took her fiancé Rami Hawash’s son to the dentist. Among the highlights of her weekend, Gemma shared a life update that could take fans by surprise.

Following the birthday celebrations of her friend Gaurav Lamba, she shared a photo of herself lounging on a sofa. Uploading the snap to Instagram Stories, she added a caption stating: “Shattered!!! And flying back to Dubai tomorrow.”
She then turned to her followers and asked them to share ideas of which part of the Middle Eastern country she could move to. She wrote: “Seriously thinking to move my family to Dubai any lovely places to live let me know.”
Gemma and Rami first enjoyed a romance in 2011 then again in 2014, and becoming engaged that year. They soon split – but reconciled in 2021 and they plan to marry and welcome a baby together.
Rami is already father to a son named Tristan – who Gemma affectionately refer to as a step son and frequently shares photos and videos of her doting on him online. The trio have enjoyed trips to Dubai together in the past.
Since 2024, it has been estimated that over 1,000 UK millionaires have fled to Dubai for a happier life – and the advantages of living in a low tax environment.
Gemma is worth an estimated minimum of £2.7 million – with some reports suggesting she could have as much as £7 million to her name. Other influential people have moved to Dubai in recent months – or opted to set up businesses there.
Naomi Campbell is one such millionaire – revealing in September 2024 that she was planning to have her base of operations for a company called KC Global Partnerships set there.
Speaking about the new business, Naomi said at the time: “Dubai has become a global hub for talent, brands, and innovation. Throughout my career, I’ve experienced firsthand the power of meaningful relationships in driving success and creating opportunities.
“It’s not just about who you know; it’s about bringing the right people together at the right time. That’s what we’re doing with KC Global Partnerships, but on a much larger scale.”
And her business partner, Umar Kamani, added: “In Dubai and across the region, we see immense potential to transform how talent and brands interact.
“Our vision goes beyond facilitating mere transactions. Our platform is designed to nurture authentic, long-term partnerships, creating real value for everyone involved.
“KC Global Partnerships isn’t just about connecting people – it’s about fostering a collaborative ecosystem that will spark innovation, fuel business expansion, and promote cross-cultural interchange throughout Dubai and beyond.”
