A man has shared his experience of meeting American actor, George Clooney, in a gentleman’s club while he was on his own stag do – and he showed his true colours
George Clooney showed his true colours when he was approached by a group of men on a stag do in a gentleman’s club. Clooney, an American actor known for his roles in Ocean’s Eleven, From Dusk Till Dawn, and playing DR. Doug Ross on NBC medical show, ER.
He’s received a huge number of awards including two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award and four Golden Globe Awards as well as nominations for three Emmy Awards and a Tony Award. He’s also been given the AFI Life Achievement Award and the Kennedy Centre Honor in 2022.
Being one of the most familiar celebrity faces in the world, it’s common for Clooney to be recognised while going about his daily life.
This was true for one Reddit user, who shared his experience meeting the actor in a gentlemen’s club.
The experience, which was posted in the R/AskReddit community, said: “George Clooney happened to be at the same gentlemen’s club I had my bachelor party over 25 years ago.
“While I stepped away to use the the restroom, my friends had gone up to him and told him it was my bachelor party. When I got back, he waved us over to his table and said I heard you’re getting married, congratulations and bought us a round and we proceeded to shoot the s**t for a bit. Super nice down to earth dude.”
Other people shared their own experiences of meeting George Clooney, with many also sharing that he was a complete gent.
One said: “In the middle of a big democratic fundraiser, took the time to talk movies with me and my brother (both teenagers) and complimented our taste. Also told the bartenders to take a paid break and started mixing drinks!”
A second person said: “Years ago, before I met my wife, she was working in international development in Africa and she did a minor administrative favor for him and to thank her he paid for her to take a weekend vacation. Pure class.”
A third said: “He was doing a scene outside our building in DC for his show K Street. He was very nice talking with us, and we all got a picture with him. He would have stayed longer with us, but he had an appointment with a Congressman on the Hill.”
A fourth added: “Met George Clooney at a fundraiser, early 00’s. He told the bartenders to take a (paid) break and spent the next hour mixing drinks for everyone.
“Talked movies with my brother for a few minutes (we were both teenagers, sons of no one very important at a place with many important people) and complimented his taste in cinema. Union man. Not rude to fans. Seemed like an alright dude.”
