While Gina Carano’s “I’m married” announcement was news to the world this week, her husband, Kevin Ross, told The California Post on Tuesday he and the legendary MMA fighter have actually been hitched for nearly four years.

In an exclusive interview, the retired kickboxer revealed that he and Carano tied the knot in August 2022.

Gina Carano’s husband, Kevin Ross, revealed to The California Post the two officially tied the knot in 2022.

He called it an extremely private affair, explaining they got it done at a courthouse and didn’t inform a soul for a while.

“We didn’t even tell our family about it for a few months,” he said. “We just wanted to keep it to ourselves.”

Kevin Ross and Gina Carano first began dating in May 2001.

Ross, 45, said with how public Carano’s life is, “we wanted to do something for ourselves and not tell anybody.”

“It was nice keeping it a secret,” he added. “Something only we knew. Nobody knew we were married I don’t think for like a year or so. We didn’t tell anybody.”

Carano, 43, first disclosed the huge life update while at Intuit Dome in Inglewood for a press conference previewing her upcoming fight with Ronda Rousey.

“I actually moved up to Montana,” Carano said after a reporter asked what’s something nobody knows about her. “I live on a farm. I got married to my first and last love, Kevin Ross. And it was the best thing I’ve ever done.

“So now you all know. I’m married.”

Ross said the two first began dating in May 2001, but split some four years later.

Gina Carano flashed her wedding ring to reporters on Tuesday while at a press conference for her upcoming fight with Ronda Rousey.

Around 2015, he said they reconnected and have been together since.

Ross revealed they had intended to hold a “big wedding” in Montana last year, but once the possibility of Carano’s matchup with Rousey cropped up, the couple shelved the plans.

But Ross said they’re not stressing about it, and are far more focused now on the May 16 tilt with Rousey.

“We got the important part out of the way, so we’re not in a rush to do it,” he said. “Whenever it feels right and the time’s right.”
