Gogglebox stars Pete and Sophie Sandiford have become household names in recent years – but what do we know about their life away from the Channel 4 show?
It’s fair to say Gogglebox just wouldn’t be the same without siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford.
The TV stars – who live in Blackpool -first joined the long-running Channel 4 show back in 2017 for series 10, and it didn’t take them long to become firm favourites. Over the years, Pete and Sophie have had fans in stitches thanks to their witty banter, one-liners, and comical takes on the telly highlights.
And much to the delight of fans, the pair are back on screens for the brand new series of Gogglebox. But what do we know about their lives outside of the Channel 4 series?
Pete and Sophie’s jobs
When they’re not watching television together, Pete and Sophie can be found working in their day jobs. Pete previously worked in insurance before training as a roofer and founding his own building business.
Despite his fame from Gogglebox, he previously told The Sun he had no plans to give up his day job, saying: “I have got to pay my mortgage somehow.”
Meanwhile, Sophie previously worked at high street store Debenhams. She was made redundant in 2021 when the department store collapsed, and all stores across the UK were shut down. She then trained as a florist and founded her own business, Petali Floristry.

Clearly, comedy runs in the family as Pete and Sophie’s uncles are none other than Barry David Elliott and Paul Harman Elliott, also known as the Chuckle Brothers.
The family members have often shared snaps with one another over the years. Paul previously uploaded a selfie with Pete and Sophie and wrote: “This day, 2018, with my great niece and nephew.”
Sophie also previously paid tribute to her beloved great uncle Barry after his death in August 2018. She said, “A truly lovely and funny man to be around.”
She added, “You filled millions of childhoods with laughter and entertainment, including mine and Peter’s. You will be sadly missed by many. Rest in peace, Uncle Barry. Lots of love from me, to you.”
Pete and Sophie’s secret siblings
With such a close relationship, many people would expect Pete and Sophie to be each other’s only siblings – but it turns out they have another brother and sister, Lucy and Harry.
While Lucy and Harry prefer to stay out of the limelight, Sophie occasionally posts photos with her sisters and brothers on her Instagram. One snap, posted on National Siblings Day, was captioned “The fam”. Pete also shared a snap of them enjoying a night out.

Gogglebox isn’t the first time Sophie and Pete have appeared on our screens. In fact, they were actually scouted for the show after appearing in a series of adverts for TalkTalk’s 2016 campaign called “This Stuff Matters”.
Sophie and Pete, along with mum Julie, Dad Paul, brother and sister Lucy and Harry and Elvis the dog all took part. They were filmed nonstop for two weeks with 17 unmanned cameras to find the perfect “ordinary, everyday moments”.
The end result was an advert that looks a lot like Gogglebox. The Sandifords can be seen watching TV, eating their tea and chatting to friends on the phone and via video calls.

Away from the TV show, Pete is loved-up with his wife Paige. The couple tied the knot in 2021, and later that same year, their first child, a baby boy named Jimmy, was born.
Speaking about becoming a father, Pete told The Mirror in 2021: “It’s a bit overwhelming, got it all going on at the moment!” He also confirmed his wedding: “I’m married now! It was nerve-wracking, but the best day of my life. Well, second-best day as I’m a dad now, too.”
Pete and Paige then welcomed a daughter, Evie, in June 2023. Sharing an adorable photo cradling his newborn daughter, Pete wrote: “Myself and @paigesandiford_ would like to welcome the newest addition to our family, Eva Sylvie Sandiford.”
Meanwhile, Sophie is in a relationship with boyfriend Ben McKeown. The couple went public with their relationship in 2022, with Sophie sharing loved-up photos on Instagram. Fast forward to last year, and Sophie revealed she and Ben had gotten engaged.
