Gordon Ramsay has issued blistering advice to family friend Brooklyn Beckham. The celebrity chef, a long-term friend of the Beckham family, has also shed light on the devastating impact the ongoing feud is having on his pals.
Wannabe chef Brooklyn has been at loggerheads with his parents, Sir David, and Lady Victoria Beckham, since his 2022 wedding to billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz Beckham. But things hit an all-time low last month when the 26-year-old lashed out at his family on social media and revealed he had no plans to reconcile with them, having been estranged for some years.
And for Gordon, who has known the family for decades, he’s seen both sides of the argument. He’s revealed that he’s not only in contact with Sir David and Lady Victoria but has also been exchanging messages with Brooklyn amidst the ongoing drama.
He revealed that it’s a “very difficult situation” for the Beckham family, explaining: “Victoria is upset, and I know 24/7, seven days a week, just how much David loves Brooklyn. Brooklyn and I have messaged a little bit; our relationship is solid. I love him – his heart is incredible.”
Speaking to The Sun, Gordon went on to explain that Brooklyn may be blinded by love, but his love for his parents will eventually return. He shared that he’s seen firsthand how many times David and Victoria have “got Brooklyn out of the s**t.”
“I think it’s going to be a matter of time before Brooklyn takes a good look at himself and understands just what his parents mean to him,” the chef fumed, adding: “He’s desperate to forge his own way, and I respect that from him. It’s such a good thing to do.”
Gordon fumed that Brooklyn ought to “remember where he came from” and should understand that his parents won’t be around forever. And while Brooklyn has been taken under the wings of the Peltz family, Gordon admits that his own parents have “done more for you than anyone did in your entire life.”
Over the years, David and Victoria have been strong supporters of Brooklyn throughout his many attempts at carving out a career. Whether that be as a model, photographer and more recently a chef, the former footballer and Spice Girl were on hand to offer their support in person and across social media.
Last month, however, all those years of support were thrown into the air, with Brooklyn slamming his parents, who he claims attempted to “ruin” his relationship with Peltz.
While whispers of a family feud and estrangement had been popping up, he claimed this was a move calculated by his parents. Sir David and Lady Victoria have not addressed the claims made by their eldest son yet.
In a statement shared on his Instagram page, Brooklyn said: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.”
He went on to fume: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”
Brooklyn added: “My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations.”
