Once completed, the new Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium will become an all-weather arena of a scale second only to Tokyo Dome within the capital, with an opening planned for 2030. Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group has secured the naming rights for about 10 billion yen over a 10-year period, and while the official name ‘Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium’ will remain, the venue will also adopt the secondary name ‘SMBC Olive Square’.

Sumitomo Mitsui aims to use sports, music, and other events held at the arena to expand points of contact with customers.
