Hansika Motwani, who married businessman Sohael Khaturiya in December 2022 has now officially parted ways with him. Speculation about trouble in their marriage had been circulating since last year, though the actress never publicly addressed it. The Bandra family court in Mumbai has now granted the couple a divorce after they filed for separation through a mutual consent petition. Reports suggest that Hansika chose not to claim any streedhan or alimony as part of the settlement.
During the legal proceedings, Motwani was represented by advocate Adnan Shaikh. As per his statement, the couple lived together only for a short period after their wedding before realising that certain fundamental differences were impacting their relationship. Over time, differences in their temperaments, perspectives and lifestyles reportedly led to frequent disagreements.
According to the petition submitted in court, even minor issues would often turn into arguments, making it increasingly difficult for them to continue living under the same roof. Eventually, the couple felt that parting ways would be the most practical decision for both of them.
The petition also mentioned that family members and close friends had tried multiple times to help them reconcile and encouraged them to resolve their issues. However, those attempts did not work. Hansika and Sohael ultimately agreed to end their marriage amicably and have been living separately since July 2, 2024. The affidavits filed by both sides confirmed that neither would make any financial or legal claims against the other, and the couple also did not have any children during their marriage.
