Harish, KTR Slam Urea App

Hyderabad: The BRS on Saturday called the government’s attempt to instal an app-based system for urea sales an ignorant move by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and senior leader T. Harish Rao on Saturday said the app-based system did not demonstrate the willingness of the government to ensure that farmers received urea on time but showed an attempt to hide the fact that the government had failed to do so.

Rama Rao, addressing recently elected sarpanches and deputy sarpanches in Tandur, said the ‘urea app drama’ is not only anti-farmer but a “conspiracy to hide the long queues of farmers from the world. The government, unable to provide fertilisers directly at shops, is attempting to deceive farmers with a mobile app to mask its own failures.”

The urea crisis, Rama Rao said, was because the Congress government lacked vision. “If the Congress had the same love for farmers that KCR has in his heart, these problems wouldn’t exist. But this government lacks both love and sincerity,” he said.

Harish Rao at a meeting in Sangareddy to felicitate newly elected BRS-supported leaders in the gram panchayat elections, said “Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has no clue about what farmers need. He would understand the desperation of farmers if he ever practiced agriculture. He is incapable of ensuring farmers get the urea they need, so introduced an app. When KCR was Chief Minister, he sent truckloads of urea to all villages.”

Harish Rao also slammed Revanth Reddy “for tall claims of huge victory” in the panchayat elections. “The fact is he included winners supporters by others,” Harish Rao said. “The truth is that BRS alone won 40 per cent of gram panchayats. This shows widespread dissatisfaction against Revanth Reddy and the Congress in rural areas.”
