Harry Potter star Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the blockbuster adaptations of JK Rowling’s magical book series, has announced that she is pregnant with her second child
Bonnie Wright is pregnant with her second child. The actress, 35, who is best known for starring as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, has been married to Andrew Lococo since 2022 and they are already parents to a two-year-old son, Elio, together, but she took to social media to reveal that they are expecting once more.
She wrote on Instagram: “Two babies on my lap [chicken hatching emoji] Our second little earthling joining us this autumn!!” Evanna Lynch, who starred as Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films, was one of the first to weigh in on the happy news.
She wrote: “Ahhh, congratulations Bonnie!!” The actress, who appeared in all eight instalments of the billion-dollar film series, was also instantly congratulated by fans in the comments section of her post.

One wrote: “Awww congratulations, Bonnie,” and another said: “Congrats, so nice to hear, Elio is going to be a big brother and very helpful,” whilst a third wrote: “I was just saying to myself, it’s about time she had another baby! And here you are, congratulations!” A fourth said: “Another Weasley!! Congrats!!!”
Bonnie, who also starred alongside Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in the blockbuster films that were based on JK Rowling’s magical book series, also received support from fans upon the birth of her first child in September 2023.
At the time, she wrote on Instagram: “Say hello to Elio Ocean Wright Lococo, born at home on Tuesday, 19th September. We’re all healthy and happy. Andrew and I are so in love with our sun! So grateful for our birth team that have held our hands throughout and made the journey so joyous and expanding.
Fans rushed to the comment section to congratulate the star on the happy news, with one user writing: “Awww Hello baby ! Welcome !!!” while another added: “He shares the same birthday as Hermione Granger!” Fellow Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, wrote: “Awwww congratulations Bonnie and Andrew!!!
“Welcome to Earth, Elio Ocean!!! ps. Hermione’s birthday twin, I’m sure you’ve been told!!” Harry Styles‘ sister, Gemma, added a ‘congratulations’.
Harry Potter’s James Phelps added: “Huge congratulations!!” The star, who has appeared in a handful of roles outside of Harry Potter but has remained closely associated with the franchise with appearances on Return to Hogwarts and Wizards of Baking, announced the news in April of that year.
As she shared the happy news, Bonnie wrote in the caption: “We’re having a baby! So excited to share this beautiful land with them. What a wild and humbling journey pregnancy is, transforming to make space for new life. Andrew and I can’t wait to meet our baby later this year and become parents.
“It feels like they’re coming to say hello in the little rainbow orb across my belly”. Bonnie and her husband tied the knot in March last year in an outdoor ceremony in California. Excitedly telling her fans about her special day, she said: “Yesterday was the best day of my life thanks to my husband!!”
