David Harbour has been the subject of Lily Allen’s latest album West End Girl as the record is based on the three year affair he had during their marriage

The identity of a singer who fell to her death from David Harbour’s apartment in New York in 2015 has resurfaced after Lily Allen released her new album.

An aspiring musician fell to her death while she was staying at the actor’s apartment in 2015. Christin Croft, 29, was alone at the apartment while David was away working in Canada in September 2015. The NYPD confirmed that the death was not considered suspicious.

They later ruled the manner of death as “undetermined” despite the fact that she had left a note at his East Village apartment. Croft fell to her death from the third floor apartment after reportedly struggling to find a place to live before meeting Harbour.

This has resurfaced after David’s ex-wife Lily Allen released her new album last week, much of which is about her relationship with David.

Marlon Martindale, who is married to Croft’s cousin Duana, told the Daily Mail that the family had initially been told by police that Croft’s death was a suicide even thought she appeared to be in “good spirits” in the days prior.

Martindale said: “I don’t recall being told about a suicide note, but the last person to speak to her said she was in good spirits.” It is unknown exactly how Croft met Harbour.

Martindale said that Croft had been struggling with her mental health and had been taking medication. Martindale said: “Yes, Christin fell to her death from David Harbour’s apartment in 2015. She struggled with mental illness. She was trying to get her life together.”

Harbour said at the time he was helping out his friend who was having a hard time in her life. He told the New York Daily News: “She was someone who struggled. She was in the shelter system. I was trying to help her out.”

However, her family denied that she was in the shelter system. David had been in Toronto for the premiere of Black Mass when he received the news that Croft had died.

Police sources later said she had a history of mental health issues. Harbour found fame in 2016 playing detective Jim Hopper in the sci-fi horror series Stranger Things.

He married singer Lily Allen in a Las Vegas wedding back in 2020 but the pair are no longer together. Lily has since claimed that David had a three year affair while they were married. David is yet to respond to the affair allegations.

The musician filed for divorce in September of this year despite splitting in 2023. Her new album is said by Lily to be based on David’s infidelity and how she handled it at the time.

The album, which is Allen’s first in seven years, shot to the top of the UK iTunes chart within 24 hours of release and has already been streamed more than eight million times.
