Helipad Work Begins for Hyderabad-Somasila-Srisailam Helicopter Tourism Circuit

Hyderabad: Helicopter service linking Hyderabad with Somasila and Srisailam is set to begin in the second week of June, when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is expected to inaugurate the new tourist initiative. Officials said helipad construction is underway at Somasila, while landing permissions and other regulatory clearances are still awaited.

The project is being implemented by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation in coordination with EaseMyTrip through its EasyDarshan platform. According to officials, the introductory price has been fixed at `99,000 per person for the first two months.

Each helicopter will have six seats, and four helicopters are planned for deployment. Officials said the service will begin with one helicopter, and more aircraft will be added depending on demand. Retired Army pilots will operate the flights.

The four-day package is aimed at high-end spiritual tourism. On arrival in Hyderabad, passengers will be put up at five-star hotels, including Park Hyatt Hyderabad, Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Hyderabad Banjara Hills, Taj Krishna and The Park Hyderabad.

The next day, passengers will fly to Somasila and stay at Mrugavani Resort. The itinerary includes a visit to the Lalita Someswara Swamy Temple, a holy dip in the Krishna River and boating. From there, passengers will travel by helicopter to Srisailam to visit the Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple and the Bhramaramba Devi Temple. Accommodation will be arranged at Raghavendra Grand Srisailam or a similar hotel.

On the final day, passengers will return to Hyderabad by helicopter and be dropped off at the airport. Officials said the service is expected to improve access to key pilgrimage centres and boost premium spiritual tourism.
