Hema Malini Reveals Missing Dharmendra Every Minute, ‘I Keep Asking Myself, Is He Really Gone?’

It has been three months since the nation lost one of its shiniest gems after Dharmendra’s death. The actor was not just an incredible actor, but a doting father and a dutiful husband. His death on November 24, 2025, marked a permanent grief in the hearts of his fans and family. In a recent interaction, Dharmendra’s wife and popular actress, Hema Malini, spoke about coming to terms with the loss.

Hema Malini reveals missing Dharmendra every single minute

The 79th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), held recently, paid a tribute to Dharmendra during its In Memoriam segment. It was one of the greatest honours for the actor, who was also renowned for his global presence. Now, in an interaction with Variety India, Hema Malini spoke about the emotional tribute he received and said:

“He was someone whose presence went beyond borders. He had fans in every part of the world. My God, the way he would be mobbed in foreign countries. We didn’t travel together much, except for shootings when we got to spend time together. We would sign lots of films together so we could spend time together.”

Going further in the interview, Hema Malini shared that it is difficult for her to come to terms with the fact that Dharmendra is no more. She also stated that she misses him every single minute after his demise. Speaking about the same, she said:

“I miss him every single minute. I keep asking myself, is he really gone? When will I meet him again?”

In November 2025, Dharmendra was rushed to the hospital after his health deteriorated, and there were reports of his passing, which was soon rubbished by his family. The actor was brought back to the residence in Mumbai after a few days. However, his condition deteriorated, and the ‘He Man’ of Bollywood bid adieu to the world on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. His final rites were performed at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai, where his colleagues and family gathered to pay their respects.

Hema Malini revealed that Dharmendra’s final days were traumatising

Dharmendra’s fan and acquaintance, Hamad Al Reyami, a resident of the UAE, was very close to the late actor. Taking to his IG handle, Hamad shared a picture with Hema as he visited her to pay his condolences to the family. Penning his conversation with Hema, Hamad revealed Dharmendra’s last days, as Hema Malini had. She shared:

“But what happened was mercy… Because Hamad, you couldn’t bear to see him like that. His final days were cruel… Hurtful… And even we can barely bear to see it like that.”

After Dharmendra’s death, Hema Malini and her daughter, Esha Deol, made a rushed appearance at the crematorium, while Dharmendra’s first family was already there. A few days later, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol organised a special prayer meeting at a Mumbai hotel to honour Dharmendra’s legacy. On the same day, Hema Malini held a Gita path at home and was not seen at the hotel prayer meet.
