Rail commuters heading south into Brisbane have been warned trains are not running to timetable, with delays stretching as long as an hour.
Queensland Rail said a signalling issue had forced several tracks offline along the Caboolture, Redcliffe and Sunshine Coast lines on Thursday morning.
“The trains are not running to [the] timetable … we’ve got 60-minute delays across the network,” a Queensland Rail spokeswoman said.
She said services running express between Petrie and Northgate had been cut, with all trains now stopping at every station.
Translink issued a warning to commuters shortly after 6am, warning both inbound and outbound trains were affected.
In a post online about the same time, Queensland Rail warned customers of 30-minute delays, which had grown to 60 minutes by about 8.20am.
Shortly before 7am, Queensland Rail technicians were on site working on a fix.
By 9am, crews remained on the tracks, and Queensland Rail said it was unclear when the issue would be resolved.
