This week on the Emirates Man series of “How I got my job as…”, we speak to Sahil Khan, Business Development Manager and Brand Ambassador at iS Clinical, about the journey that took him from a lifelong fascination with science to the forefront of the medical aesthetics industry in the GCC.
From his earliest roles in healthcare to helping scale one of the world’s most respected clinical skincare brands across the region, Sahil shares how curiosity, credibility, and purpose have shaped his path and what it really takes to build a career at the intersection of science, beauty, and business.
What was your favourite subject at school?
Science, especially biology and chemistry. I was always curious about how things worked at a microscopic level, and I loved being able to link theory with real-world outcomes. That curiosity stayed with me through university and ultimately shaped my passion for evidence-based skincare.
What was your first job?
My first professional role was in the aesthetics division of a healthcare company. It was my first real introduction to medical-grade skincare and aesthetic technologies, and it was transformational. I wasn’t just selling products; I was learning how formulations, clinical data, and patient outcomes all intersect to build real trust. That experience became the foundation of everything I do today.
What brought you to Dubai?
Dubai was always a dream destination for me, a city of global ambition, innovation, and possibility. The UAE’s appetite for cutting-edge brands and clinical excellence made it the perfect market to grow with, and iS Clinical’s vision aligned beautifully with that. The multicultural energy and forward-thinking mindset here are very motivating for anyone who wants to build something meaningful.
What inspired you to join iS Clinical?
I was drawn to iS Clinical because of its scientific integrity and performance-driven philosophy. There’s no compromise between efficacy and comfort, every product is formulated to deliver visible results while respecting the skin barrier, which is absolutely essential in the harsh climates of the GCC. Being able to represent a brand that genuinely helps people feel confident in their skin was something I knew I wanted to be part of.
Talk us through the concept of iS Clinical
iS Clinical is rooted in clinical skincare, a synergy of plant-derived ingredients and pharmaceutical-grade actives designed for real results without downtime. From corrective solutions to daily essentials like cleansers, serums, and moisturisers, the approach is science-forward and outcome-oriented. For me, that’s what sets this space apart: formulas that perform and empower.

What are the key elements of your role?
My work spans strategic planning, partner development, education, and brand storytelling. I collaborate closely with clinicians, aesthetic experts, and retail partners to ensure that every message about our products is clear, credible, and backed by science. It’s a blend of commercial insight and educational purpose helping people understand not just “what” a product does, but “why” it works.
Talk us through your daily routine
No two days are the same, but mine usually start with market insights and planning, whether it’s sales strategy, training sessions with partners, or reviewing performance data. Afternoons often include meetings with teams or collaborations with clinics and retailers. Outside of work, I prioritise fitness and mindfulness, it keeps me grounded in a fast-moving industry.
What advice do you have for anyone looking to follow in the same footsteps?
Seek real-world experience early and don’t be afraid to dive into roles that challenge you, especially at the intersection of science and business. Build credibility, be curious, and always prioritise learning over titles.
What is the best piece of advice you ever received?
Focus on impact rather than accolades. If you’re helping people, whether through education, outcomes, or innovation, the rest will follow.
And what is the worst advice?
That success will happen quickly. In this industry, consistency and persistence matter more than overnight results.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve had to overcome?
The challenge has been balancing vision with patience, especially when you’re passionate and ambitious. It took time to learn that meaningful growth often comes from incremental wins rather than big leaps.
What’s next for the brand and for you?
For iS Clinical, the focus is on expanding education and access to clinical skincare across the Middle East, while continuing to innovate with formulations that resonate with diverse skin needs. Personally, my goal is to keep building partnerships that strengthen our scientific presence and help more people achieve confident, healthy skin.
