Rowdy is finally going to meet Conviction Crush.
On Saturday, May 16, Ronda Rousey will take on Gina Carano at Los Angeles, CA’s Intuit Dome in an MMA 145-pound catchweight bout.
The match will be Rousey’s first since December 2016; the last time Carano stepped in the ring was 2009.
“I never would have thought Women’s MMA existed if I’d never seen her fight,” Rousey said back in March 2014. “I never knew there was such a thing until her and to fight her would be a real honor.”
If you’d like to see the 39-year-old Rousey and soon-to-be 44-year-old Carano duke it out for the first time in their careers live, tickets are available for this one-of-a-kind showdown that Rousey promises will be “the best fight [you’ve] ever seen.”
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets on either StubHub or Vivid Seats — the event isn’t listed on Ticketmaster — was $186 including fees on Vivid Seats.
For those hoping to get closer to the action, floor seats start at $3,027 including fees on StubHub.
As of now, there’s no word on whether or not this will be the last time these legends compete. However, the fight does allow both fighters a chance to rewrite history; both lost their final fight (Cyborg took down Carano in ’09 and Amanda Nunes came out victorious over Rousey in their 48-second ’16 meeting).
Ahead of the fight, doctors will conduct neurological and concussion battery testing on Rousey who suffered from concussions, dating all the way back when she won the bronze medal in judo at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
“We’re going to have our doctors take a look. The fighters are going to have to do a lot of medicals, both of ’em,” California State Athletic Commission executive director Andy Foster told ESPN.
