‘I Cannot Stay Silent..’ Rashmika Mandanna To Take Action Over Leaked Audio On Breakup With Rakshit

Rashmika Mandanna is all set to start the new phase of her life with her longtime beau, Vijay Deverakonda. However, the ghosts of her past are still haunting her. While she didn’t pay any attention to the media coverage around her broken engagement, she broke her silence when a certain section of people re-shared her mother’s audio from eight years ago. 

Rashmika Mandanna slammed those who circulated her mother’s private audio 

On March 12, 2026, Rashmika Mandanna threatened to take legal action against individuals, influencers and social media platforms who circulated her mother’s private conversation. In a detailed post, Rashmika slammed those who are running a campaign with misleading information and harassment directed at her past. 

The audio in question is of her mother, Suman Mandanna. In the original interview to a Kannada channel, her mother talked about her broken engagement with Rashmika and Rakshit Shetty in 2018. However, the clip, which had stayed out of public conversation for many years, circulated when Rashmika got married to Vijay Deverakonda and was all set to start the next chapter of her life. In her statement posted on X and Instagram, Rashmika ended a note and stated that the private conversation from eight years ago was circulated without her consent or that of those involved. She wrote:

“An old private conversation, believed to be from nearly eight years ago, appears to have been recorded and circulated without the knowledge or consent of those involved/ A small portion of that conversation has now been deliberately taken out of context and circulated widely to create yet another discomforting controversy, strategically coinciding with recent developments in my personal life.”

She also added that people have now dragged her family along with people with whom she shared a cordial bond, and who have nothing to do with this matter. Rashmika stated that she won’t tolerate these attacks anymore. She stated that she had silently watched people misusing her statements and creating a false narrative, but she won’t take it anymore. She wrote:

“It has been 8 years since a sustained campaign of misinformation, harassment, and targeted attacks from a section of the media and individuals online had started against me. I have watched as my words have been taken out of context, as words I never uttered were spun into false narratives, and hate has been amplified for the sake of views, reach, and engagement.”

Rashmika added that she had lost all her patience, and she won’t tolerate this anymore. She gave all those who have circulated the content of the audio without her permission to remove it, or else she will take legal action against them. She wrote:

“Today, while others are being drawn into this, I cannot stay silent any longer. I choose to draw a boundary. Failing this, starting tomorrow, appropriate legal action will be initiated, including the issuance of legal notices to individuals, influencers, digital platforms, or media organisations involved in the continued circulation of defamatory or privacy-violating content, in accordance with applicable law.”

After secretly dating, Rashmika and Vijay got engaged on October 3, 2025. The engagement was held at Vijay’s Hyderabad residence, and extreme privacy was ensured. Later, their PR confirmed the news and called it an intimate ceremony attended only by family members and a handful of close friends. The couple got married on February 26, 2026, and it was a grand affair.
