Mo Farah spoke of his pride at receiving his knighthood from the late Queen Elizabeth II on I’m A Celeb.

He was knighted at Buckingham Palace in November 2017. He told his campmates: “It was nerve wracking, right. Because you get a letter saying ‘would you accept this?’ And you say yeah and then you don’t know who you’re gonna get, you could get Prince Charles, you could get anyone.

“And for me, I was lucky. It was the queen. She knew who everybody was, did she and she’s like, ‘you’ve been running quite a long time’. I was like ‘Yeah’.”

Asked if his family were proud, he added: “My wife was there with me. So she was like, Wow. It was incredible as a young boy, you know, having his own story, to be able to meet Her Majesty the Queen. She did wonderful things for so many people, kept everyone together.”
