David Haye will join 11 other I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Allstars for a round in the South African jungle
Former champion boxer David Haye finished in third place back in 2012, and has since kept himself busy with “throuple” relationships. The second series of the ITV spin-off, which features some of the show’s most memorable campmates, is set to launch on Monday, April 6.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will join the returning stars in the South African jungle for some of the biggest trials in I’m A Celebrity … history.
Who is David Haye?
David Haye is known for his British heavyweight boxing career but since he entered the jungle, he became known for his relationship with Coronation Street Actress Helen Flanagan.
Helen recently addressed the David “throuple” speculation. The former Coronation Street actress, 35, was romantically involved with the retired boxer throughout 2023 before their split in December. Speculation swirled that she formed a “throuple” with David and his girlfriend Sian Osborne, but she has firmly dismissed this.

When was David Haye on I’m A Celebrity?
David entered the jungle on day 1 in 2012, and was eliminated on Day 20, coming 3rd place overall. Although he didn’t take home the crown he didn’t go without a fight as he faced snakes, beatles and even a live trial which Helen Flanagan originally attempted but David stepped in to re-attempt.
He claimed that during his stint in 2012, tasks were so much easier and praised producers for “turning up the heat” this time around. Speaking ahead of Monday’s launch the ex-pugilist told us: “The first time I did it, it felt it was very easy for me.
What did David Haye do on I’m A Celebrity?
He says that the show made him realise he was good at bonding with a group of people he didn’t know. “I’m quite easy to get on with and I never had issues with mixing,” he says, noting that the camp had been quite chilled.
“Maybe this time around it might get saucier.” Laid back about the trials, which he claims were “quite easy”, Haye, 45, says he is most looking forward to the South African wildlife. “I really enjoyed the connection with mother nature. Chuck a bunch of cockroaches or spiders over me, I am pretty sure I will be fine.”
David admitted he was mentally prepared for his time in camp this time around – including the food. “I knew the food, the beans and the rice – I was aware of it. And I was able to kind of enjoy it a little bit more this time. I wasn’t as conscious as first time around. This time around, I felt a lot more – maybe I’m a bit older – but I seemed a lot more relaxed.”
Let’s see how relaxed he really was…
