Margot Robbie showed her true colours at the premiere of Wuthering Heights when a lip reader was able to share what she was staying to the countless staff who surrounded her
Wuthering Heights, the movie, has taken the world by storm thanks to Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi’s performances. But fans were left floored when the Barbie actress showed her true colours at the Hollywood premiere of the film as she stepped out of the vehicle she arrived in.
You can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat staff around them, and it’s good news for fans of 35-year-old as she’s a sweetheart on and off screen. A deaf woman who can lip-read, Jackie G, shared what Margot said as she was about to step onto the red carpet. Margot, who is married to British film producer Tom Ackerley, said: “Um, if you could just lift the front of the dress? I um, I can’t move that.”
When they did as she requested, she gushed: “That’s perfect, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for helping me make it, oh my God.”
She then stepped onto the red carpet and began greeting people excitedly, as she was no doubt papped thousands of times.
In the comments, people praised how lovely she seemed, with one person saying: “She always seems to be so kind to all of the people around her.”
A second wrote: “It’s wild just how beautiful she is. And one thing I love about her is that in so many of her movies, she gets so into the role so I forget that she’s the same person.”
“She seems so sweet,” a third gushed, with a fourth adding: “I feel like a proud mum because she has beautiful manners.”
Others praised her acting in the film, penning: “Margot is fantastic in the new Wuthering Heights movie with Jacob Elordi. The passion between Cathy and Heathcliff is spellbinding.”
What are people saying about Wuthering Heights?
Reviews are mixed for Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, with some accusing it of ignoring the most important bits of the book, but others praising its sexual liberation.
On Rotten Tomatoes, it gets a score of 59%. Generally, critics say the movie may “not be the stuff of high literature, but it is a visually vibrant pleasure”.
One audience member wrote: “Having not read the book and going into it with an open mind, I loved it. The chemistry, the costumes, set decoration, cinematography, and soundtrack were all great.
“It’s definitely worth seeing in movie theatres. That being said, I can understand why fans of the book might not enjoy this creative adaptation.”
Another criticised: “I didn’t like the surrealistic vibe, and Heathcliff was ugly inside and out. The only good thing about the movie was Margot Robbie.”
Some others said they “left the cinema bawling” at the end and couldn’t believe how “devastating” it was.
