I’m Not Big on Berry Lips, But the TruSkin Sculpted Lip Liner Changed My Mind—Review

Despite its similar look, shape, and feel, TruSkin Sculpted Lip Liner in Mulberry is for lips—not eyes. Good thing, because I’m not too big on eyeliner these days, but I love a lip liner.

The twisty, retractable gel-like pencil glides onto Cupid’s bows just as easily as its lid-friendly counterparts, but with a creamier, soft-matte texture in the prettiest light berry shade. It’s made with castor oil, which gives the liner that smooth feel, and offers a touch of moisture to lips, unlike traditional lip pencils.

I also love that this liner doesn’t come with a standalone sharpener (it’s built into the bottom of the tool!), because while I appreciate the addition of an extra tool to my beauty arsenal, I’ll be the first to admit I’ve lost every single sharpener I’ve ever received with a liner. Oops!

Here’s how I use it: After sharpening (tug on the bottom of the pencil to reveal), hold the tool to your lips at a slight angle (instead of straight-on), then outline and fill in. For a more matte finish, wear solo, or if you prefer a sheen-like effect, layer on your favorite lip gloss or balm. I’m more of a balm girlie since it tends to last longer, but that’s the beauty of beauty…there are no rules!

The TruSkin Sculpted Lip Liner in Mulberry is in the March Allure Beauty Box.
