India’s Farmers and Climate – Need for Smart Data Solutions | NABARD

Extreme weather is changing the very rhythm of agriculture. Crops, farmers, and entire food systems are being pushed to adapt to a climate that no longer behaves predictably. What the farmer needs today is access to short, mid-term and long term projections. And she needs it in a consumable format and yes, above all, in time.

The National Climate Stack Innovation Challenge is calling on innovators to turn climate data into real solutions for farmers. Because the future of food will depend on the smart analysis of tonnes of data available in the ecosystem. It will depend upon the ability of all the stakeholders to come together to share the data they own individually.
