Now, with the announcement, fans are even more intrigued to know what the film is about. The film also marks Deepika Padukone’s first project since giving birth to her daughter, Dua, in September 2024.

The collaboration is the actress’s second project with Atlee, following Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Jawan. Hence, fans have double the reason to celebrate as more information about the film gets shared. AA22xA6 gets its official title

AA22xA6’s director, Atlee, took to his social media handle on April 8, 2026, to mark the 44th birthday of his film’s lead, Allu Arjun, by sharing the film’s official title, Raaka. The poster shared by the makers featured Allu Arjun in an animalistic avatar. It featured Allu Arjun with a partially hidden face, his hand covered in thick fur and a sharp nail, the actor’s bald look adding to the mystery. He described the project as more than just a film, calling it a part of himself that he has carried for 18 years. Atlee said the idea of Raaka has tested and shaped him, and he considers this moment just the beginning. Sharing the film’s poster, the filmmaker wrote:

“#Raaka isn’t just a film, it’s a part of me I’ve carried for years. For 18 years, I held on to one idea, never letting it fade. It tested me, shaped me, and stayed with me through everything. And honestly, this is just the beginning #HappyBirthdayAlluArjun sir (sic).”

What is Raaka about?

While not much is known about Atlee’s Raaka, it is said to be a grand fantasy-action entertainer aimed at a global audience. Backed by Sun Pictures, the film’s multilingual poster release suggests the makers plan to bring it to a wider audience. Additionally, the film is being developed on a massive scale, combining compelling storytelling with cutting-edge cinematic techniques. Atlee is known for his impeccable direction, which has already made the audience excited to see what the team will bring on screen. Combined with the stellar lineup, the film can easily be called a much-awaited project. Sun Pictures also expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration and wrote:

Raaka cast fee, who is taking the biggest paycheck for the film?

While official numbers for the film are yet to be revealed, it is being said that the film has a massive budget of approximately between Rs. 700 and Rs. 850 crores. According to reports, the high cost is driven by top-tier VFX, with Rs. 200 crore for production and Rs. 250 crore for visual effects, and the film is aiming for a 2027 release. Talking about the cast, it is said that Allu Arjun will be taking home a massive remuneration of Rs. 175 crore and an additional 15 per cent in profit-sharing.

Deepika Padukone, on the other hand, is said to receive between Rs. 20-25 crores for her role in Raaka. Rashmika Mandanna, meanwhile, might be paid between Rs. 5 and Rs. 7 crores for the film. Coming to the director, Atlee will also be talking about the massive paycheck of Rs. 100 crores for directing the film. Music director, Anirudh Ravichander, is also reported to receive a salary of Rs. 25 crore for the music in the film.

Who is playing what role in Raaka?

Fans have been curious to know what roles the actors will be essaying in the film. While details remain under wraps, it is alleged that Allu Arjun will appear in multiple avatars in the movie, including as ‘Raaka’. Meanwhile, this look is a complete surprise to everyone and has raised expectations for the film. On the other hand, the video teaser previously showed Deepika Padukone as a warrior princess. While her character’s name is yet to be revealed, the actress was seen decked out in heavy metal armour and learning combat moves.

It also shows Deepika Padukone riding a CGI horse as she charges at her enemies, confirming that the actress will appear in multiple action sequences in the film. While Rashmika Mandanna’s role has not been confirmed for the film, reports suggest she will play the antagonist. Additionally, Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor, Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu will also be seen in pivotal roles. However, the exact nature of their characters is yet to be announced.
