TOWIE star Jordan Wright, 33, was found dead in Phuket, Thailand, and in the weeks leading up to his death he shared updates from his time in Asia in a bid for a “fresh start”
The tragic death of Jordan Wright in Thailand has sent shockwaves through the community, coming just days after he posted about his new life in Thailand. The former star of The Only Way Is Essex, who appeared on the show in 2018, was discovered dead at the age of 33 in a drain in Phuket, Thailand.
CCTV footage from the night it’s believed he died has surfaced, showing him sprinting towards his hotel complex in distress, repeatedly glancing back as though he’s being chased. The footage also captures Jordan clutching onto a white pick-up truck as he dashed through the complex, stumbling as he went.
The subsequent events remain uncertain, but it’s thought that he traversed rough terrain surrounding the hotel. It’s believed he then leapt into a creek approximately 10ft deep, navigated through a shallow stream, and ended up at a nearby construction site devoid of CCTV coverage. This is where his body was later found.

In a recent statement, Lieutenant Colonel Sutthirak Chuthong of Choeng Thale district station commented: “The circumstances leading up to the death are quite unclear. It is possible that other people were involved.”
In the weeks before his death, Jordan had been posting updates from his Thai adventure, featuring beachside cocktails, champagne in infinity pools, and motorbike tours of the countryside.
A source from the hotel reported that he hadn’t received any visitors during his stay, adding: “He would go out at night like other guests. There was nothing unusual until we could not find him when he was due to check out.”
A close friend of Jordan’s took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute, detailing the bond they shared: “Can’t actually believe I’m writing this. It’s hard enough saying goodbye to friend. Let alone someone who lives with you. And trains with you. Eats with you. Rides with you.
“Adventures one day. And smashes pizzas games, movies and s*** food the next day with you. Someone you come home to every night. Wake up in the kitchen most mornings and attack the day together. Transitioning from a close friend you’ve known for 10 + years to a brother you’d drop anything for at the touch of a button.
“You will always be such an inspiration to me and so many others. Having lived more lives in the short time you were here than many couldn’t dream of doing in 5 lifetimes. Words can’t even do justice to what we are all feeling right now. Rest in peace my brother.”
In the weeks leading up to his death, Jordan had been sharing glimpses of his idyllic life in Thailand. A keen motorcyclist, he posted videos of himself exploring the Thai roads on his bike.
One video, shared by Jordan on January 22, shows him cruising through the bustling streets, captioned: “POV- You move to Thailand and chase the” followed by three sunset emojis. He was also tagged in a group photo alongside five fellow bikers, all astride red motorcycles, under the caption: “Squad Sundays”.
Beyond cycling, Jordan was passionate about fitness. In February, he posted footage on Instagram showing himself training his upper body at a Phuket gym, accompanied by an uplifting message.
“Slow and steady wins the gains,” he wrote, tagging the Phuket fitness centre. In December, Jordan uploaded images and clips of himself engaging in sparring sessions with friends at a Muay Thai training facility.
