Katie Price and Peter Andre have vowed to stop talking negatively about each other going forward and “want to stand united” for their two children
After years of bitter swipes, social media statements and lawsuits, Katie Price and Peter Andre have finally called a truce. The former couple – who divorced 17 years ago – made a bombshell joint statement on Instagram today (February 6) confirming they have “closed the door on the past” and have “reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward.”
“We want to stand united for our children,” they said. “We are hoping this is the start of a positive relationship.” This comes after the pair’s long-running feud, which has arguably been running on and off since their separation in 2009 after four years of marriage.
Their most recent spat was one of their most explosive. Former glamour model Katie, who last month got hitched for the fourth time to Lee Andrews, accused her ex-husband Peter, 52, and his management, The CAN Group, of keeping her away from their daughter Princess’ career ventures. Princess was filming her fly-on-the-wall show The Princess Diaries at the time, which Katie was not featured on, and she claimed was not included in.

“I had not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that,” Katie, 47, said on her podcast. “Why? Because I’m not allowed and I’m not welcome.”
The furious Mysterious Girl singer hit back at Katie on his Instagram with a fierce statement. “For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.”
Peter claimed that their children “Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood.”
“In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases, found my ex-wife had made false claims,” he added. “She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. The same falsehoods are being repeated today. Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations I have yet to address. Those will now be dealt with in the coming months.”
It wasn’t always so toxic between Katie and Peter. The pair were love’s young dream when they met and fell in love on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2004. They later married in a lavish wedding at Highclere Castle in 2005 and welcomed two children together – Junior in 2005 and Princess Tiaamii in 2007. However, things soon turned sour and the pair announced the fairytale had come to an end in 2009.
“We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I’ve never slept with him,” Katie later claimed on Paul C Brunson’s podcast We Need To Talk. “I just kept my horse there, and I was happy keeping my horse there, and he was married.
“That day, I’m at the airport, it’s all on Sky News, it wasn’t mutual at all,” she said. “And then I released a statement saying I don’t want to split with Pete, it’s Pete that’s splitting with me. Until this day, me and Pete have never sat down and spoken about it.”
Relations struggled to thaw over the years and Peter sued Katie in 2011 for comments she made publicly about her son Harvey, 23, where she claimed Peter was not genuine in her feelings for her son. She agreed to pay libel damages.
One of the most scathing comments in their feuding history was made by Katie about Peter’s new wife Emily. In 2022, Katie took to Instagram to brand her a “disgusting person” in a shock post.
“My mouth has been shut for so long but I’ve had enough of people selling stories on me and particularly this so called woman @dr_emily_official,” she lashed out in a quickly deleted Instagram Stories post.
“Always said I don’t want to be famous yet doesn’t do too bad to stay away from media and TV and now trying to make a career out of it. So cringe she has used my children to make money in photo shoots yet covers her own children’s faces up!”
“She claims to be a doctor who clearly doesn’t have a clue about mental health,” she went on. “Oh and stopped my daughter from visiting me at The Priory when she wanted to see her mum.
“She is so jealous of my relationship I have with Princess and puts me down. Emily you are not and never will be my kids’ parent so mind your own business, your (sic) so two faced and definitely not the person you portray to the public. I think you’re a disgusting person so stop trying to interfere in my life.”
However, it didn’t receive a response from Peter or NHS Dr Emily.
