Inter captain Lautaro Martinez has highlighted the importance of sacrifice and humility while reflecting on his growth as a player and leader.

“Today I feel like a more mature player,” Lautaro said, via FCInterNews.
“I am proud to be captain of an important club like Inter. For my life, my career and my family, this club means everything.”

“‘Sacrifice’ is the most important word,” he explained. “My father passed it on to me. My family often lived with very little, so sacrifice was essential, but also precious. Respect is also a fundamental value.”

Lautaro also offered advice to young players, stressing the importance of observation and learning from experienced teammates.
He revealed that Nerazzurri legend Diego Milito played a key role in his development during their time together at Racing Club.
“I watched his control and his movement, and I listened to what he said,” Lautaro noted. “I did the same with my father.”
Finally, when asked what goes through his mind before stepping onto the pitch, Lautaro pointed to the journey behind him.
“I think about all the sacrifices I made to get there, and I try to enjoy every moment.”
