TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has censured Miriam Adelson, the widow of casino mogul and billionaire Sheldon Adelson, for making false claims against Iran in her Israel Hayom publication on February 11.
Now, the owner and director of Israel Hayom, Miriam Adelson claimed that Iran has deceived U.S. President Donald Trump. She made such a claim in an editorial in Israel Hayom just before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Washington for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump that took place immediately after negotiators from Iran and the United States held nuclear talks in Oman on February 6.
Foreign Minister Araghchi said Adelson’s publication is at the service of Israel.
“Whenever Miriam Adelson’s mouthpiece pushes a dramatic claim about Iran, it’s worth asking who it serves. Even the U.S. President has acknowledged where her primary loyalties lie,” Araghchi wrote on X.
Israel Hayom said Netanyahu is “expected to outline what Israel sees as the wrong contours of any potential U.S.-Iran agreement.” The paper also said, “The likelihood of Trump signing what Israelis would view as a humiliating agreement, similar to or worse than the Obama-era deal, appears remote.”
Moreover, the paper claimed that Iran is executing some protestors held following the January unrest.
Araghchi responded, “No executions have taken place, no court process has been concluded, and more than 2,000 prisoners have been pardoned.”
The Iranian foreign minister advised Adelson to notice who will benefit from her false claims and who is doing the cheating.
“Before buying the narrative being peddled, consider who benefits from it—and who may actually be doing the deceiving,” Araghchi concluded.
