More about Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere
The film is not just a biopic of Bruce Springsteen; it deals with a key moment of emotional and artistic crisis in Springsteen’s life. The film focuses on the recording of his radically lo-fi acoustic album Nebraska in 1982, which was mainly recorded in the bedroom of his New Jersey home. The album is inspired by figures as various as Flannery O’Connor and notorious Nebraska spree killer Charles Starkweather, the model for Martin Sheen in Terrence Malick’s film Badlands.

The film is a piece of fan fiction and is a must-watch. In a statement released by Bruce, he reflected on the kind of biopic and stated:
“This film takes a couple of years out of my life and looks at them very closely, a time when I made Nebraska and went through some personal difficulties. I’m so appreciative of Jeremy Allen White and the entire cast for their wonderful and moving performances — and Scott Cooper, one of the most generous collaborators I’ve ever worked with.”
Deliver Me From Nowhere focuses on the rawest version of Bruce Springsteen’s life as an artist.
