Jagtial: Several devotees sustained injuries after a temporary pandal collapsed at the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Jagtial district, Telangana, on Wednesday. The incident occurred during the Hanuman Chinna Jayanthi celebrations.
According to Jagtial police, the large shed constructed with woven bamboo mats as a temporary arrangement gave way when a strong gust of wind struck the area. The pandal had been erected near the Kalyanakatta, close to the temple tank (Koneru), to accommodate devotees attending the festivities.
Police officials stated that apart from devotees who had taken shelter under the structure, barbers working at the Kalyanakatta were also injured. “The collapse was triggered by a sudden gust of air, resulting in minor injuries. All those injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment,” authorities confirmed.
